Steven was an asset while working with the Narwhal team — a self starter and competent developer. He was tasked with implementing enterprise search functionality for a number of internally facing (intranet) sites for a large Fortune 100 client. The requirements were relatively undefined and required vast amounts of discovery and collaboration with the client’s IT department. Steven was instrumental in this work, taking the lead to do research and close the gap on approach, as well as implementing the solution primarily by himself. I would highly recommend him for any backend or integration development work.

I worked with Steven on a Laravel-based PHP application that spanned several months. The project was hindered by a lack of detail, and in many cases Steven was left to satisfy feature requirements without clear direction. Despite these hurdles, Steven did an excellent job and delivered better than expected work. He was incredibly detail oriented and remained very engaged throughout the project with questions, concerns, and recommendations.

I found Steven to be an excellent communicator who did not allow himself to be bogged down with problems. He was always comfortable raising his hand for further direction, and found creative solutions when direction wasn’t available.
